A&W's coney dog was a childhood favourite! It's a rare treat, but savoured every time I get it. At that time, it looks really big, but the bigger I got, the smaller it became😜😜😜. So this time I'm making my own. Out with the puney sausage, in comes an eight inch sausage with cheese. Regular hotdog buns? No way! I got these buns from Aeon's in-house bakery! Bigger, fluffier and tastier that the normal off the rack hot dog buns! I made my own chilli with minced pork as I don't have minced beef lying around. Turned out really good too! Buying spices like paprika, onion and garlic powder can be costly at the supermarket, so I get mine at bake with yen..... Cummin is cheap at lotus's. The rest of the stuff I have lying around tye kitchen. Once you e made this, u won't want to pay for coney dogs at A&W's again! 



Ingredients 

2 teaspoons cummin powder 

1 teaspoon paprika 

1.5 teaspoon onion powder 

1.5 teaspoon garlic powder 

3 tablespoons tomato ketchup 

1 tablespoon mustard 

Half teaspoon dark soy sauce

200g minced pork 

1 tablespoon Lea & Perrins 

Half teaspoon salt 

1.5 teaspoon Tabasco sauce 

Water 

Sliced cheddar 

Jumbo cheese sausage 

Chopped onions 

Chopped spring onions 

Hotdog buns 



Method 



Mix all the spices, tabasco, Lea and Perrins sauce, salt, ketchup, mustard, minced pork with enough water to just cover the pork in a pan before u turn on the stove. Make sure all the pork is nicely broken up. Add more water if necessary. Don't worry if there's too much water as it will cook off and dry up. Once that's done u can turn on the stove and cook it down. Add the dark soy sauce for a bit of color



Boil up a pan of water and put the sausages in till it's cooked 



Slice up a bun, put 2 slices of cheese, the sausage, the cooked chilli, garnish with chopped onions, spring onions and mustard if u like and ita ready to eat!



Boy! Was that a satisfying coney dog! Just one is really filling, compared to the now tiny looking ones at A&W😜😜😜. And it didn't take long to make too!

  CHAR SIU Now, just look at thise yummulicious goodness! Yes, it can be made at home too! In your oven toaster! you read it right! Oven toaster! That's how I make my char siu for one! The secret is all in the marinade, and I normally make enuf to marinade at least 1kg of meat, but after making the marinade, cook it for a while, till it boils and all the sugar is melted and it can be kept for months in the fridge.   ROTI BABI This is a favourite amongst the Penang Peranakan community. And this is my take on the dish. Purists will frown when they see how I do it. But me being me, and lazy too, I chose the easy way without much sacrifice in terms of flavours. Still taste pretty good, and here's how I did it. Ingredients  4 slices of bread 150g minced pork  2 eggs, beaten  Quarter teaspoon of white pepper A quarter teaspoon nutmeg powder  Half a teaspoon corriander powder  4 shallots, minced  3 cloves of garlic, minced  1.5 teaspoons salted soy bean paste  3 tablespoons Lea and Perrins sauce  Half a teaspoon mustard powder  5 chilli padi, finely chopped  2 tablespoons sugar  Some corriander leaves, finely chopped Method  Mix the pork with onions, garlic, nutmeg and corriander powder, salted soy bean paste, pepper and 2 tablespoons of egg Spread the pork mixture on a slice of bread and cut it into 4pcs Dunk the bread into the beate...

  MEE YOKE / PRAWN MEE  Not difficult to make, but if do it properly you will be rewarded with this excellent bowl of Mee Yoke! It helps when u have some of my multi purpose sambal in the fridge.
