BAK CHOR MEE
BAK CHOR MEE
There are many variations of this dish but what u see here is the version made popular by the stall at Fengshan Hawker Centre. The queuse there are at times rridiculously long, so for those of you who don't want to queue or are too far away, this recipe is for you, especially if you're only preparing only a bowl. A quick and easy way to solve your cravings. This is by no means exactly like the original, but it's really very close to it.
Ingredients
1 portion thin egg noodles
200g minced pork
Some pork balls
Half of an ikan bilis cube
Spring onions, chopped
some cut chillies
Some crispy pork lard
2 teaspoons oyster sauce
2 teaspoons sesame seed oil
Method
Cook the noodles according to instructions on the pack. The ones I use only takes about 45secs
Marinade the minced pork with oyster sauce and sesame seed oil
In a pot with just enough water for the soup, cook the meatballs and the minced pork. It is important to use just enough water for the soup so the flavours will not be diluted as we want the pork flavour from the minced pork
When the soup is done, pour it over the noodles and garnish with spring onions and crispy pork lard and it's ready to serve!
This is a really simple way to make this and it will satisfy your cravings!
Enjoy, and stay safe!
