BEEF CHOW MIEN This is my take on the American Chinese chow mein. I used whatever I had in the fridge and from my small garden to make this. A really simple and hearty meal, fast to cook, tasty too! Marinade the beef a day in advance and you will be rewarded with a deep and flavorful beef slices. You can marinade a whole lot and freeze them portion sized. Beef marinaded this way is good for stir frys too! Ingredients 150g sliced beef Oyster sauce Sesame oil Chinese rice wine Chinese five spice powder Corn flour Sugar Light soy sauce 2 portions Wantan noodles, blanched, Bean sprouts 2cm knob of ginger, sliced 5 cloves garlic, minced, 1 big onion, sliced, Pork lard, optional Method Marinade the beef overnight with a tablespoon oyster sauce, sesame seed oil, corn flour, Chinese rice wine 2 teaspoons sugar, chinese five spice powder and corn flour.
